OEM vs ODM vs Private Label: What Each One Means
OEM — your brand, our platform
You choose an existing WINYI model and we adapt it: colour, material, function set, logo, packaging and manuals. Fastest route to market and the lowest development cost.
ODM — a product built from your brief
You bring a concept, reference or market gap. We handle industrial design, 3D structure, electronics, prototyping, tooling and validation until the product is production-ready.
Private label — branding only
The product stays as-is. Your logo, Pantone colour, retail box, insert card and multilingual manual are applied on top. Minimum quantities start lowest in this lane.

02 — Private Label
Private Label: Your Brand on a Production-Ready Product
Private label is the shortest path from idea to shelf. You pick a model that already passes our production tests, then we apply your identity to the product, the box and the paperwork inside it.
Branded box, insert and manual
Artwork is laid out to your dieline, printed and checked on a physical sample before the run.
Line-side brand control
Boxes, sleeves and labels are applied on the same line that builds the product, so version errors are caught early.
Sample set before you commit
You approve a real packaged sample — product, box, print and finish — before mass production starts.
Logo application: two methods, chosen by material
Silk-screen printing
Adaptable and cost-effective for volume orders, with strong colour and flexible surface application. Best on silicone, plastic, PVC, leather and selected metal parts.
Laser engraving
A precise, permanent, ink-free mark with a premium feel. Recommended for rigid surfaces; very soft TPE is generally not suitable for engraving.

03 — Custom Mold
Custom Mold Development for an Exclusive Shape
A custom mould gives your brand a shape customers cannot compare against a standard market model. WINYI runs this in-house with more than 50 mould masters, so geometry, prototype and tooling stay under one roof.
1 — Brief & geometry
From a sketch, reference or ergonomic idea: 2D appearance design and adjustable 3D structure drawings.
2 — Prototype & feel test
A physical prototype is evaluated for scale, grip, texture, balance and function before any steel is cut.
3 — Private mould
Tooling, pilot samples, quality testing and mass-production validation on the finished mould.
What we confirm before tooling
Size, texture, Pantone colour, logo position, function set, target cost band and expected annual volume. Tooling starts only after the prototype is signed off, which keeps the mould from being reworked.
Mould ownership and confidentiality
Project drawings, specifications and prototype data are treated as confidential. Mould ownership, exclusivity terms and NDA scope are agreed in writing before development begins.

The Customization Process: 7 Stages from Brief to Shipment
Every project follows the same seven stages. Below is exactly what happens at each stage and what you receive at the end of it — whether you are private-labelling an existing model or opening a new mould.
Requirements & brief confirmation
You share a reference, sketch, target price, target market and quantity band. We confirm feasibility, the right manufacturing route, certifications needed for the destination, and the MOQ for that specific route.
You receive: feasibility notes, route recommendation, MOQ and a budgetary quotation.
Design — 2D appearance and 3D structure
Industrial designers produce concept sketches, 3D modelling and ergonomic refinement. Engineers check wall thickness, draft angles, motor space and assembly access before the file goes further.
You receive: 2D renders and adjustable 3D structure drawings for sign-off.
Prototype & sampling
A physical prototype is built and tested by hand for size, grip, texture, noise and function. Revisions are re-sampled until the feel matches what you specified.
You receive: a working prototype sample, plus a packaged pre-production sample on request.
Mould / tooling
After prototype sign-off, the private mould is cut by our in-house tooling team. Pilot samples from the real mould are checked for shrinkage, flash, surface finish and assembly fit.
You receive: pilot samples from the production mould and a tooling validation report.
Mass production
Liquid silicone is batched, mixed and moulded, then deflashed, ground, polished and oil-sprayed. Battery, motor and PCB assembly follow on the line, with function testing at each station.
You receive: production schedule and in-process inspection records.
Quality control & testing
Raw material inspection, semi-finished current testing, waterproof / function / noise inspection, aging tests and finished-product inspection, supported by electrical testing racks and temperature-humidity chambers.
You receive: QC report per batch, plus compliance documents available by model.
Packaging & shipment
Units go into the retail box, insert tray and manual, then shrink wrap, master carton and pallet. Cartons are plain and discreet; export documents, HS codes and compliance files are prepared per destination.
You receive: packing list, photos of the finished pallets and shipment documents.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is your minimum order quantity?
Selected production-ready models can start from 100 pieces. Custom colours, functions, packaging, tooling and manufacturing methods may require a different MOQ, which we confirm at the brief stage.
Can I customize only the logo and packaging?
Yes. Private label projects use an existing WINYI model with your logo, colour, packaging, inserts and manuals — no new tooling required.
What is the difference between OEM and ODM?
OEM adapts an existing product platform to your brand. ODM develops a more original product through design, prototyping, tooling and validation.
Which logo process should I choose?
Silk-screen printing is flexible and economical for volume orders and works on most surfaces. Laser engraving produces a clean, permanent, premium mark on compatible rigid materials; very soft TPE is generally not suitable.
Can you develop a completely custom shape?
Yes. We work from a sketch, reference sample, ergonomic concept or market brief and develop the appearance, structure, prototype and private mould in-house.
Who owns the mould?
Mould ownership, exclusivity and confidentiality terms are agreed in writing before development starts. Project drawings and prototype data are handled under NDA.
How long does a custom project take?
Timing depends on the customization depth, number of sampling rounds, tooling and testing required. A stage-by-stage schedule is provided after the project review, and updated as samples are approved.
Do you inspect products before shipment?
Yes. Raw materials, semi-finished parts, functions, appearance, aging performance and finished products are all checked during production and again before shipment.
Which certificates can you provide?
WINYI holds CE, BSCI and ISO 9001 certification, with EU RoHS/REACH compliance documentation and SGS verification reports available for specific models. Scope is confirmed per model and per destination market.
Can you ship directly to my warehouse or Amazon FBA?
Yes. We pack to your carton specification, label per your requirement and prepare export documents. Share the destination and labelling rules at the brief stage so we can quote the packing accordingly.
